Picking a special time for your parish to collect spare change in mite boxes is a fun and painless way to raise significant funds for Connecticut's children at risk. Many parishes have found ways to build excitement around the project: • Make it an inter-generational event • Have people bring filled boxes and present with the offering on Sundays throughout the season. Invite people to pick up another box. • Use special Advent or Lent or calendars (see links below) to teach about stewardship and remind people of parish events. • Make a final announcement of results and thanks.
