National organizations

    Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation An emerging network of lay and ordained economists, business people, students, social organizers, theologians, attorneys, labor activists and advocates who have chosen the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to focus their action.

    ONE Campaign At its 2006 General Convention, the Episcopal Church launched a new grassroots partnership with ONE: The Campaign to Make Poverty History. The new initiative, called ONE Episcopalian, seeks to rally Episcopalians -- ONE by ONE -- to the cause of ending extreme poverty and achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).     Episcopal Peace Fellowship. Also offers training in nonviolence

    Episcopal Public Policy Network. Maintains an office on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Provides "alerts" of pending legislation so you can contact your legislator and voice your opinion

    Peace & Justice Ministries of the Episcopal Church USA provides information on what the church is doing and offers ways to get involved.

Local organizations

    Diocesan Social Concerns and Witness Committee takes up matters of justice, holds occasional diocesan-wide conferences, works with other groups to effect change. Contact The Rev. Peter E. Bushnell at pbushn4489@aol.com for more information.

    Diocesan Anti-Racism Task Force offers a 20-hour program, "Transforming a Racist Society" that addresses racism from five different levels. Its goal is to promote personal and institutional change. Contact A. Bates Lyons, chair, for more information. Appropriate for deanery or other regional groups.

    St. Francis House, in New London, has regular "Clarification of Thought" evenings to discuss topics of justice, and brings in noted speakers. The Episcopal Urban Caucus, and the Southeastern CT Peace Coalition have offices there. Contact the Rev. Emmett Jarrett, TSSF, for more information.
