Bible Workbench is a lectionary Bible study resource that
involves a weekly exploration of Biblical texts, with commentary,
readings from literature and evocative questions for use by groups
and individuals.
Disciples of Christ in Community (DOCC) is an adult education
program which provides an experience in building Christian community
while encouraging individual spiritual growth under the auspices of
the School of Theology Programs Center of the University of the South.
At each of the 21 sessions, a 30-minute presentation is given. After
which, the participants gather in small groups of about ten to discuss
the significance of the presentation to their lives
The Discovery Series:
A Christian Journey is an adult education video series for
inquirers and mature Christians produced by the Episcopal Diocese
of Texas
Education for
Ministry (EFM) is a program of theological education-at-a-distance
of the School of Theology of the University of the South. Students
sign up one year at a time for this four-year program. It covers the
basics of a theological education in the Old and New Testaments, church
history, liturgy, and theology. Students meet regularly, usually once
a week, in seminars under the guidance of trained mentors. The program
grants a certificate at the completion of the four years.
- Joan L. Fairlie is the Diocese
of Connecticut's EFM coordinator
- EFM Groups in Connecticut with mentors (TBA)
Emmaus:
The Way of Faith is a multi-phase study program that fosters Christian
formation and discipleship in the congregation. Emmaus courses are
modeled after the story of Jesus walking with two disciples on the
road to Emmaus after his resurrection. They are divided into three
stages: Contact, Nurture, and Growth, to serve Christians who are
at different points in their faith journey. Developed by five Anglican
clergy in England. Published my Morehouse in the U.S.
The Kerygma
Program is designed to support congregations in developing
strong and effective programs for Biblical study. Congregations may
schedule a single, elective course, or may develop a long-term plan
offering several or all of the courses in progressive and cumulative
education design.
- Kerygma Program Foundational Bible Studies focus on the Bible whole. Two of these Bible Study courses offer differing levels of concentration and are surveys of the entire Biblical narrative. One course is a survey of the Biblical basis for key Christian doctrines.
- Kerygma Program Shorter Bible Studies focus on a book of the Bible, theme of Scripture or important passages. There are currently twenty-two courses, which comprise six to fourteen parts.
LEAP
--Liturgy, Education, & Action for the Parish is designed especially
for use in Christian education forums or small-group discussions.
These resources present germane and practical ways to engage with
contemporary themes in justice, education, and ministry. Centered
on a topic of current importance in the life of the church, LEAP provides
approachable education, thoughtful, contemporary liturgy, and powerful
opportunities for mission and outreach.
LifeCycles
- Working through small groups, LifeCycles aims to empower
all members to realize their God-given gifts and so become ever more
active, articulate apostles at work in God's world, and to transform
"congregations gathered around the clergy" into vital, ministering
communities.
Practically
Christian links the five baptismal vows of the Episcopal Church
with six classical prayer forms of Adoration, penitence, Intercession,
Petition, Thanksgiving and Praise. Originally designed as an EFM follow-up
model, it can be used for Newcomers or Renewal of Baptismal Vows.
Theological Education for All
is a collaboration between the National Church (Ministry Development
Office) and Seminaries that promotes and provides resources for continuing
formation for all adults - lay and clergy./p>
Venture

History, Liturgics and Holy Scripture in four series: Christian Beginnings,
Reformation, Prophetic Voices of Freedom and One God, Many Faiths.

via media
represents a renewed commitment to evangelism in the Episcopal
Church. One of the lessons of General Convention is that the Church
needs to spread the message of an inclusive, powerful, passionate
God to all people. Our churches have experienced a tension between
"traditional" and "progressive" ideals in the
weeks following the prophetic actions of General Convention. An evangelism
tool that presents the basic tenets of Christianity from an inclusive,
Anglican approach to scripture, traditions, and reason, leads the
participants to a broader view of the journey of faith and the role
that the Church can play in society. via mediarepresents
an inherently Anglican program that represents the mainstream of American
Anglicanism and will help grow the Episcopal Church.
